Covenant Christian Academy (CCA) is a private Christian school that receives no funds from outside agencies to help with the costs of operation. The public schools receive several thousand dollars per student in government funds for operating expenses. The funds received by public schools in many cases are still not enough, as they also have fundraisers to help offset costs in many different areas.
As you know, CCA is one of the least expensive schools of its kind in the Columbia area. At last glance, we were the lowest, and we are proud of that fact. This makes it possible for many children, like your own, to be able to receive the best Christian education possible, without paying the $5,000 - $6,000 a year other schools charge in the Columbia area. To do this, we ask our parents/guardians to help offset the costs every year by helping and participating in fundraisers. CCA usually has four school wide fundraisers, one in early fall, one in January, the Walk-a-thon & Spring Carnival in April or May.
Many parents have suggested that they would rather make a donation than participate in fundraisers. As we did last year, we will offer this option again for this new school year. We are offering our Participation/Non-Participation contract to help all of us decide our own mode of fundraising. Here are the details:
If you choose not to participate in our fundraising this year, we ask that you pay a fee of $200 per child. This can be paid in two payments, one by October 15th ($100 per student) and one by March 15th ($100 per student).
If you choose to participate in fundraising, unfortunately we do have to ask for a minimum dollar amount raised per child, per fundraiser:
Remember parents, if you choose to participate in fundraising instead of paying the $200, you must participate in all school wide fundraisers; you may not pick and choose which ones you would prefer to participate in. If required participation is not met, it may result in losing/reducing your re-registration discount.
As a parent, I will see to it that my child upholds the statements below and all policies of CCA and the Handbook. We give our pledge of support to the policies and purposes of a Christian education at CCA.
I give permission for my child to take part in school activities, including sports or any activity that may take them away from the school property. Notification of pre-scheduled field trips will be sent home prior to the activity taking place.
I agree to adhere to the uniform guidelines of a black polo shirt and khaki shorts, pants, or skirts.
The following statements apply for all students.
I recognize the Word of God as the foundation for all behavior in my life. Therefore, my actions and attitudes should reflect that of Christ. To exemplify a Christ-like character I pledge to:
I understand that attendance at CCA is a privilege and not a right. Failure to conduct myself according to standards expected may result in expulsion from school. I have read the Student Handbook and will uphold the policies and procedures at all times.
